Low cost cottage utilizing glue laminated/timber frame (Unadilla Products, a local manufacturer, fabricates and installs the building frame and deck) and aluminum clad composite building panels (to be manufactured in Maryland and shipped to site) clipped to the timber frame with infill glass. The system permits quality control of fabrication and accelerated construction in this remote upstate region where quality labor is scarce and extended oversight is impractical. The building is designed primarily for seasonal weekend use, but will permit year round occupancy. Living functions are contained in the oval volume with the screened porch functioning as a flexible outdoor living, sleeping or dining space during times of year when the temperature is moderate.
